Retrieving Pearls of the Spirit in the Sea of "Chip" Stars

Retrieving Pearls of the Spirit in the Sea of "Chip" Stars

A book-sharing session with snacks, blind boxes, and laughter - the perfect way to wrap up May!

The "Chip-Star Sea" Book-Sharing Session

On the morning of May 30, KINGSKY's Learning Committee turned the meeting room into a magical space - no solemn "work reports," just the crunch of snacks, the thrill of blind boxes, and the warmth of books being passed from hand to hand.

Theme: KINGSKY's "Chip-Star Sea" - a play on the Chinese phrase for "sea of stars," with "chip" replacing "star."

We believe that behind every "chip" is a living, breathing soul that loves to read.

01

Hand Over Your "Spiritual Food"

The host held two book boxes as if holding two little treasure mines. In five minutes, everyone wrote down: name + book title + a one-line recommendation - it could be the most piercing quote or the funniest line.

The slips of paper dropped into the boxes one by one, like seeds falling into spring.

Then came the moment of drawing lots -

One colleague recommended "Good, Pat Your Head" (《乖,摸摸头》), smiling: "This book made me believe that there really are people in this world who live by staring death in the face."

Someone handed over "The Almanack of Naval Ravikant" (《纳瓦尔宝典》), looking earnest: "The truths about wealth and happiness are written thin but read thick."

When "No Longer Human" (《人间失格》) was drawn, the sharer paused: "'I am sorry for being born human.' How exactly does a person lose the 'qualification to be human' step by step?"

When "To Live" (《活着》) was drawn, the sharer offered a simple yet powerful answer: we live for the sake of living itself, not for anything beyond living.

Each slip of paper is a small window - open it and you see a different world.

Along the way, colleagues who interacted brilliantly even won books signed by the boss - a true "spiritual + material" double reward!

02

"Pass the Parcel" - When the Music Stops, the Book-Love Begins

If the first round was an "anonymous confession," the second was "public exposure" - no wait, public sharing.

A plush toy was passed around the room; when the music stopped, the holder had to pick one of three topics and expand on it:

1. A book that made you fail to "slack off" (so good you read it late into the night and had no energy the next day)

2. An idea from a book that could work brilliantly in pursuing customers, working on technology, courting someone, or easing the mood

The music started and the toy flew around; when the music stopped, someone "won the prize."

One colleague shared "Stories of the Sahara," saying that San Mao's line - "Every time I miss you, a grain of sand falls from the sky, and so the Sahara was born" - taught him to express his obsessions in a romantic way, and it later turned out to work surprisingly well when talking with customers.

Another colleague recommended "Walden," admitting: "It took me a long time to finish this book - not because it's hard, but because it truly felt like carving an oasis out of the wilderness. It taught me one lesson: what a person truly needs is very little."

The room never ran out of laughter, and the applause never stopped.

The Boss's Bookshelf, and Caicai's "Sword Come"

The climax of the event was the third round - "The Boss's Bookshelf."

Caicai didn't share business management books, nor did he trot out any success-guru classics. He brought out a web novel - "Sword Come" (《剑来》).

He said: "There's a line in this book that I especially love: 'A gentleman is not a vessel; his heart belongs to the rivers and lakes.' Whether you work in technology or lead a team, don't live your life as a mere tool. You need the sharpness of a swordsman and the softness of a reader."

He added: "The book also says, 'When in doubt, ask the spring breeze; if the breeze is silent, follow your heart.' This represents an attitude toward life when searching for direction amid confusion: when we feel lost, we can look outside ourselves for inspiration, but if the outside world offers no answer, the final - and most reliable - guide is within our own hearts."

This book-sharing session had no "standard answers," only "my feelings."

We were not working; we were exchanging ways of life, perspectives of thought, even a person's loneliness and passions.

Thank you to everyone who wrote a slip,

thank you to everyone who shared bravely,

and special thanks to the "bosses" willing to open their bookshelves and their hearts.

KINGSKY's "Chip-Star Sea" is more than a sea of books - it is our shared island of the spirit.

May you enjoy

the joy that reading brings.
